Ericsson hosting Silicon Valley Mobility Summit on 12/11 (Thur.); some LTE demos at the event

Ericsson will host telecommunications and Internet industry leaders at the first Silicon Valley Mobility Summit Thursday, December 11, at the Cypress Hotel in Cupertino, Calif. Dr. Jan Uddenfeldt, Senior Technology Adviser to the Group CEO and head of Ericsson’s newly established technology center in Silicon Valley, will lead the summit. Under the theme of “Driving Innovation in Mobile Broadband and Open Applications,” the conference will address advances in technology that will create business opportunities from the convergence of mobility, telecom networks and the Internet. Attendance to the Ericsson Mobility Summit is by invitation only.

Ericsson’s Summit will also feature live demonstrations of next-generation network services and applications including:

* 3G and LTE (Long Term Evolution) technology -Application demonstrations, backhaul access, network infrastructure hardware and energy saving solutions.
* Fixed Broadband - Optical network infrastructure and new multi-service router capabilities.
* IPTV Solutions - The latest middleware solutions, future combinational services, encoding technology and metadata delivery services.
Open applications - show authentication and rapid application development solutions for consumer.
* Device Ecosystem – Devices with Ericsson embedded modules and home wireless routers based on Ericsson Mobile Platform technology.
