Clearwire to migrate to LTE?

According to the document (TSG-RAN RP-100335) submitted during the 3GPP TSG RAN Plenary meeting #47 (Mar. 16~19, Vienna), Clearwire and Sprint are part of the group, which include China Mobile, that proposed the work item for 2600 MHz LTE TDD frequency band for the US. The specified bandwidth according to the proposal is 2496 to 2690 MHz, which includes the bands on which Clearwire currently runs its WiMAX service (see Sizing up the Competitive Opportunities for Verizon (LTE) and Clearwire (WiMAX), Maravedis). This strongly implies that Clearwire has TDD version of LTE (TD-LTE) deployment in sight for its current TDD spectrum. If this happens indeed, it may significantly alter the courses of both LTE TDD and WiMAX markets.
